for 1905, with tapering 14in. barrel (address details lost, bore poor), block and blade fore-sight, 'carbine' style rear-sight, plain receiver (some blinded and cleaned pitting), saddle-ring to the left side, top-tang marked 'MODEL 1892' over 'WINCHESTER' over 'TRADE MARK', gumwood butt-stock with carbine heel-plate (pinned at head), gumwood fore-end, finish worn

Provenance: Out of a total of around 1,004,500 Model 1892 rifles and carbines, only approximately 1030 were short barrelled carbines across four calibres
